What is Liposuction?

Liposuction, including advanced procedures like laser and vaser liposuction, is a popular cosmetic treatment that contours the body by removing stubborn fat. This treatment isn't a weight loss tool but an aesthetic procedure to tackle fat resistant to diet and exercise.

Laser liposuction uses a targeted laser to liquefy fat cells before they're gently removed, while vaser liposuction employs ultrasound technology to break down fat prior to extraction. These techniques can target various areas, such as the abdomen, thighs, and neck.

At VIP Surgery Turkey, we utilize state-of-the-art laser and vaser liposuction technologies, ensuring safety, efficacy, and a superior surgical experience. As with all medical procedures, consultation with a professional is crucial to understand potential risks and benefits

Liposuction Zones

Modern technology has broadened the scope of liposuction, enabling its application to various parts of the body. The choice of treatment area often determines the preferred method for eliminating excess fat. We frequently receive requests for liposuction in the following areas:

• Abdomen: A common concern for both men and women, stubborn belly fat can be permanently eliminated through liposuction. One remarkable advantage of this technique is that fat cells don't regenerate once removed. Consequently, a single straightforward procedure can yield a lasting, aesthetically pleasing flat stomach. The precision of liposuction also enables liposculpture, shaping the abdominal area to accentuate muscle definition.

• Back: Liposuction effectively removes unsightly fat folds around the waist, enhancing the overall body contour.

• Hips: Liposuction presents a practical alternative to rigorous gym routines for maintaining slim legs. It's particularly effective in targeting stubborn fat deposits on the inner thighs that resist regular exercise.

• Arms: Quick and efficient fat removal is achievable through liposuction, often employing laser techniques for this area. These methods not only eliminate fat but also enhance skin elasticity, preventing sagging.

• Face (cheeks and double chin): Previously challenging areas to treat, modern methods can now comfortably and permanently alter the facial contour by eliminating excess fat.

• Knees: Liposuction effectively addresses unwanted fat deposits around the knees.

These techniques demonstrate liposuction's versatility in combating fat deposits across various body areas.

Please remember, while liposuction can deliver remarkable aesthetic changes, potential risks associated with any surgical procedure should be discussed with a healthcare professional.

Indications for Liposuction

The primary reason for considering liposuction is the presence of unwanted body fat. Even if these fat deposits are minimal, our state-of-the-art techniques enable us to perform the procedure with minimal harm to surrounding tissues.

One of the key benefits of liposuction is its ability to target localized fat deposits, such as those found on the inner thighs, near the chest in the armpit area, around the knees, or on the neck. Dealing with these specific areas through other means can be quite challenging.

Additionally, liposuction provides a long-lasting solution to cellulite. A single, minimally invasive procedure can restore the slim contour of your legs. Since the procedure involves only a tiny incision, any traces of the surgery become virtually unnoticeable within a few weeks, leaving you with enduring results.

Remember, it's always important to consult with a healthcare professional before deciding on any medical procedure, as all have potential risks and benefits that need to be considered.

Stages of Surgery

1

Liposuction is a fairly simple procedure that does not require any special preparation. However, there are a few nuances that need to be taken into account.

• 2 weeks before liposuction, it is recommended to stop drinking alcohol and smoking. Alcohol has a negative effect on blood clotting, and smoking significantly increases the healing period.
• Women should be informed about the exact date of the last (or expected) period during a consultation with a doctor. Given the weakness of the body, on such days the operation is not performed.
• If the operation is performed on the face or neck, at least 2 weeks before it, it is worth giving up aggressive cosmetic procedures – after them, the skin may be irritated, and any impact will have negative consequences.
• The last meal should be no later than 8 hours before the operation. Therefore, the procedures are prescribed mainly for the first half of the day – so after waking up, the patient will not stay hungry for a long time, waiting for the procedure.

After the patient is brought into the operating room, anesthesia is administered to him. Its type largely depends on the treated area. In some cases, you can limit yourself to anesthesia. If sequential liposuction is planned on several zones, general anesthesia is administered.

The specialist makes thin incisions on the skin, into which probes are inserted, providing an effect on adipose tissue. Since the probes are very thin, the incisions will be minimal – after the operation they heal without leaving a trace. In the case of abdominal liposuction, an incision is often made in the navel – so it will be invisible.

After that, the pumping of the tissue through the cannula begins (sometimes these processes take place simultaneously). If the operation involves the transplantation of adipose tissue, the resulting material is transferred to the laboratory, where it is purified and enriched with substances that promote more active tissue growth.

The duration of the operation directly depends on the treated area and the amount of adipose tissue to be removed. So, on average, liposuction of the hands takes about 40 minutes, legs - 1.2-2 hours, abdomen - 2-3 hours.

After the operation is completed, the patient is transferred back to the hospital room, where he is under the supervision of the staff until the anesthesia completely ends.
