Gynecomastia Surgery · Istanbul

The one thing the gym was never going to fix.

Gynecomastia is glandular tissue, not fat, which is why chest training and dieting change everything except this. Surgery removes the gland and reshapes the chest in a single operation with a short recovery. Most men tell us afterwards that the hardest part was the years spent not asking.

Is this for you?

Gynecomastia surgery is the right conversation if…

…your chest has firm tissue behind the nipple that does not change with training or weight loss; you choose shirts and swimwear around it; it appeared in your teens and stayed, or arrived later with weight or medication changes. Fat responds to the gym, gland does not, and telling the difference is the first thing the consultation does.

We treat this discreetly as standard. Consultations are private, photos are seen only by the surgeon and your coordinator, and nothing is ever published without your written permission.

Approaches

Matched to gland, fat, or skin

Gland excision

The firm tissue behind the nipple is removed through a small incision at the edge of the areola, where the scar hides in the natural colour change.

Liposuction of the chest

For the surrounding fatty component, blending the chest into the natural contour so the result does not look patched.

Excision with skin tightening

When the skin has stretched, usually after significant weight loss, some skin is removed as well. Your surgeon will tell you honestly if this applies, because it changes the scar.

Most cases are a combination of gland removal and liposuction in the same operation. A chest treated with liposuction alone often leaves the firm disc behind, which is the most common reason men come to us for a second attempt.

Your days in Istanbul

About six days, fully looked after

1

Day 1

Airport pick-up, hotel, rest.

2

Day 2: Tests and surgeon

Blood tests and your face-to-face consultation, where gland and fat are assessed and the plan drawn.

3

Day 3: Surgery

Your operation and one night in hospital under observation.

4

Days 4–5

Hotel rest in a compression vest, daily coordinator visits, gentle walking.

5

Day 6

Wound check, final examination, clearance to fly with your aftercare plan.

Recovery, honestly

What the weeks after really look like

  • This is one of the easier recoveries we coordinate. Most men are walking normally the next day and back at a desk within a week or two.
  • A compression vest is worn for several weeks and is doing more work than it looks like.
  • Chest and upper-body training wait 6 weeks. Legs and cardio return sooner, on your surgeon's instruction.
  • The scar sits at the edge of the areola where the skin colour changes, and in most men it becomes genuinely hard to find within a year.
  • Swelling can make the chest look uneven at first. The settled result is a 2–3 month story.

Good questions to ask

Gynecomastia, the honest answers

Can training or losing weight fix it instead?
Not if it is glandular. Fat around the chest responds to training and weight loss; the firm disc behind the nipple does not, at any body-fat percentage. This is the single most common frustration men describe to us.
Will it come back?
Not the gland that is removed. New tissue can develop if the underlying cause returns, for example certain medications or significant hormonal change, which is why the consultation asks about those.
How visible is the scar?
It follows the lower edge of the areola, hidden by the natural change in skin colour. In most men it is difficult to see after a year.
Is it discreet?
Completely. Private consultations, photos seen only by your surgeon and coordinator, nothing published without written permission, and a coordinator who does not discuss your case with anyone.
When can I train again?
Cardio and legs within a couple of weeks; chest and upper body at around six weeks, building back gradually.
